Winemaker: Pat Connors
Vineyard Region: South Eastern Australia
Vintage Conditions: Rainfall was slightly below average however good irrigation strategies during the early development stages promoted healthy vines, number of bunches and fruit quality. The Australian annual crush was up again on the previous year with good yields in all the selected regions. Warm days and cool nights during January, February, March allowed berry development to be in line with normal ripening. This resulted in creating wines with good colour, depth, lifted fragrance and exceptional flavour. Red varietals in particular have excellent structure and length. The 2016 Australian vintage will be considered a great Australian vintage creating wines of great varietal expression, vibrant colour, and exceptional length and structure.
