Château Samson Cuvée Secrète is located 2 km from Pomerol near the vineyards of the famous Pétrus estate. The vineyard belongs to the Janoueix family for three generations and covers 9 hectares. The vines are planted on a sandy-gravelly soil and a subsoil with a layer of “crasse de fer” known to bring its velvety texture to the best Pomerol vintages. The average age of the vineyard is more than 30 years.
After mechanical harvest, vinification is carried out in a traditional way using stainless steel vats during 30 days. The wine is matured with 70% of new barrels (30% one wine barrels) and aged for 18 to 20 months.
