Rawson’s Retreat Shiraz Cabernet

Grape Variety: 52% Shiraz 48% Cabernet Sauvignon

Maturation: Stainless Steel and 20% matured on French and American oak

Colour: Deep vivid red with bright purple hues

Nose: Lovely blackcurrant and cassis followed by plums and dark cherries emanate from the glass. Hints of aniseed and cinnamon adds complexity to the aromatics.

Palate: Rich, sweet upfront fruit sweep the mouth. Blueberries, raspberries and violets coat the tongue. Concentrated dark fruits coupled with sweet spices from subtle use of oak are evident. Soft velvety tannins round out a balanced palate with good length.

Food Matches: Red meats and rich pasta dishes.
